For many years now BeFree Tantra has celebrated the turn of the year with “New Year’s Eve Tantra” at Gut Frohberg, which is just outside of Meissen (near Dresden). The traditional four-sided farm complex is beautifully situated atop a small hill.
Participants are accommodated in double rooms. Accommodation in a single room is possible at extra charge. Don’t worry about a perhaps seemingly long journey – carpooling among participants makes the trip seem to fly.
- Seminar hall for the New Year’s Eve Tantra
The beautiful seminar hall of Gut Frohberg is ideally suited to hosting the New Year’s Eve Tantra seminar of the BeFree Tantra School. It is 260 square metres and has a heated wooded floor. Tantra decoration soon bewitches it into a Tantra temple.
Before breakfast the daily morning meditation takes place in this room, sometimes in silent and sometimes it is very agile, eg. during fire breath meditation, which Dinesh will guide you through at least once. The morning meditation sets the scene and awakens the spirits for whatever happens throughout the rest of the day. Day after day every man and every woman delve deeper within themselves.
- Tantra on New Year’s Eve: The centre
After breakfast, usually around 10 am, the morning session starts. Depending on the group constellation and the current topic, the content varies: dance and movement, breath and energy work, communication in small groups or family constellation work make up the main elements. All the modules of the New Year’s Eve Tantra seminar are finely tuned to one another. They facilitate sensitizing the perception of oneself and of others and gently opening you to the tantric world and introducing the topic of sexuality. During the morning and afternoon sessions the preparatory work is done; the evening is dedicated to the enchantment of tantra rituals.
- Tantra on New Year's Eve
Generally the lunch break is long allow one to regenerate or reflect on what wants to take place. For many participants the actual seminar happens during the breaks: having opened up through the use of the exercises in the group, contact amongst themselves is easier and deeper than that experienced in daily life. Every day Regina Heckert gives suggestions for the breaks so that singles can get in touch in a tantric way and couples may “dive” deeper together. To chat in a nice atmosphere or to look at the Tantra shop, people come into a small, beautifully decorated café on the first floor during the afternoon break. There tea and coffee with biscuits are served. At certain times the seminar leader is present to provide the chance of getting in touch with her outside the class room. The café is run by the assistants with the help of some participants of the New Year’s Eve seminar: every day four people enter themselves into a list and then they are in charge of the preparation of coffee and tea and the smooth running of the café during opening hours (about one hour).
This common afternoon activity provides the benefit of being able to get to know each other better. There is also a sauna in the house which will be opened twice at given times for the entire group. Also daily, for a small charge, the sauna may be booked privately during lunch break or after the evening ritual. The afternoon session usually starts around 4 pm. Every afternoon three different programs take place in small groups. In these small groups tantra experiences are deepened or work on and individual concerns are looked into. When required, family constellations according to Bert Hellinger, or special offers for singles or couples only can take place. At the end of the morning session, the afternoon options are announced so that every participant can consider them during lunch break.
- New Year’s Eve Tantra: sensuality
The evening break starts with a varied dinner in the restaurant of Gut Frohberg. This break doesn’t offer much time to recover because, apart from eating, everybody needs to take a shower and prepare for the tantra evening ritual. Therefore everybody should have brought along nice clothes and maybe some tantra utensils (sculptures, items of power). For participants who don’t own anything of this sort, there is a box with material to be lent. The highlight of the New Year’s Eve Tantra seminar is without doubt the Tantra rituals in the evening. Healing on various levels and the deep feeling of being touched can happen through the sensitized perception and the magic of a higher presence. Of course, Tantra rituals are about sensuality, physical experience and erotic presence.
- New Year’s Eve Tantra temple
Many people fear the though of having to perform sexual intercourse during a ritual. Others hope for his. During BeFree Tantra seminars no sexual intercourse is practised in the seminar hall. This also holds for the New Year’s Eve seminar. However, there will be massages and Tantra healing rituals, which allow ones sexual lust to melt with your heart and therefore lead to unusual experiences. When Tantra rituals are woven into “holy magic”, they may lead someone to a (now unnecessary) boundary. Old, destructive and limiting behaviour patterns can now be dropped and thereby making room for a new loving openness.

During the time of separation, meals are eaten in silence at separate tables. Eye contact and the perception of the other gender without using words and body contact develop a special magic. The Tantra ritual of joining is enriched by the fact that men and women look at each other with a new perspective. Generally speaking it is easier for women to immerge into the circle of women. Despite the initial resistance of some men, men also feel comfortable in their group and grasp the “treasure” which can only be salvaged in a circle of men. Having mad these initial experiences, many men would like to stay in their circle. At the same time, an anticipation and a longing awakens because of not being allowed to get together with the other gender. After coming together again, usually half a day of leisure time is needed and is usually scheduled. Participants tend to use the time for walks in the beautiful environment, a sauna or a trip to Dresden or Meißen. For those with boundless energy who want to stay within the process of self-liberation and widening boundaries, there are also one or two available options for this “free” afternoon.
- Tantra on New Year’s Eve: Celebration and dancing
The New Year’s Eve night starts with a special evening ritual in the Tantra temple. This ends just before midnight. We enter the New Year with a communal silent meditation which flows into a concert of sound or singing to welcome in the New Year which we then drink to. Finger food is available for anyone who is hungry. Now that the official part of the evening is finished, New Year’s Eve beckons to be celebrated. Dancing, a raffle and – depending on participants present – performances follow; from drum concerts to fire dances – every year there are surprises. Anyone who would like to make a contribution (eg., by reciting, singing, presenting a sketch, organising a game or playing music) is most welcome! The participation in the morning meditation is voluntary and the meal times are delayed, so that everybody can sleep in: there is brunch from 11am to 1pm. Of course, the tarot card for the year mustn’t be forgotten!
This year there will be a full moon for New Year’s Eve. This brings a very special flair and energy into and around the Tantra temple.
